The Role:
As a Nine Mile Software Engineer – Exchange Connectivity & Market Data, you will work at the core of our trading systems. Responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain low-latency connections to global trading venues covering both order gateways and market data feeds
- Manage and coordinate connectivity with a variety of FIX brokers, managing projects from inception to delivery
- Manage exchange upgrade and onboarding projects
- Monitor and analyse exchange-facing and market data components, suggesting and implementing optimisations for best trading outcomes
- Work flexibly across real-time production issues and longer-term infrastructure projects
- Performance tuning across both market data and order routing systems, maximising throughput and minimising latency
What you will bring:
- Development experience in either Java or C++
- A scripting language, preferably Python
- Experience working in a High Frequency Trading or low-latency trading environment
- Experience working across both Windows and Linux environments
- Strong understanding of network protocols and market data distribution
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Genuine interest in financial markets
- Strong academic background in Computer Science or related field
- Exposure to some or all of: ITCH, OUCH, FLEX, Arrowhead, JGATE, OMNET, FIX
